Well it's been a busy couple of weeks. The week before school started was crazy, trying to get the kids back into a routine of going to bed earlier, etc., and we took an awesome day trip to Niagara Falls (Randy actually came too!) with the in-laws, and went to the beach one day too.

The kids are back in school, Brody in Grade 3 and Zoe in Senior Kindergarten so now I have every other week day to myself! The after school routine is not going so well... I have to get used to setting aside homework time, etc. but it's getting better.

I've spent my alone days catching up on all the housework I neglected over the summer - it's a lot! Basically I just kept up on the basics, laundry and dishes, the occasional toilet cleaning and vacuuming. I started with the kids room, pulling everything out but the furniture, dusting ceilings and walls, cleaning the window, vacuuming and mopping the floors, wiping down shelves. Then I spent about three hours sorting all the toys, random pieces of toys, garbage and bits of paper. When they clean their room they just throw everything on the shelf instead of putting it where it belongs so it was quite a disaster! Feels good to get that done. The living room has been mostly done, yesterday was the bathroom, top to bottom, including a light fixture that's been there for seven years and I only remember cleaning once! It didn't look too bad (the dust kind of blended in) until I started wiping it down and it was thick with dust! Ewww! Today I'm working on the dining room (even though Zoe is here - she's 'helping'!). Cleaned the ceiling fan so chunks of dust stop falling in our dinner (I know, gross right?) and dusted the ceiling and walls and vacuumed the floor, just have to mop now. Hopefully by the end of next week I'll have the whole house done, and then it will be time to start over again! I'm dreading the kitchen, moving the fridge and stove since I believe it's been about a year since I did that last.

Brody has joined the cross-country team at school. He didn't even know what cross-country was but wanted to join because he heard there were bus trips to other schools! He's happy that it's running though, that boy LOVES to run!

Tonight is the meet the teacher barbeque. So not interested in going, but B really wants us to. Spend an hour with the other parents I talk to EVERY DAY after school eating crappy hot dogs and hamburgers, then meet the teacher who I've already met and speak with pretty much EVERY DAY after school!

Next week is my appointment to register for my correspondence course which, once completed, will make me a high school graduate! Yay for graduating HS at 43!

Must finish my dining room and throw another load of laundry in, and Zoe's bugging me to go to the park.
